Martha West grew up in South East London. She first auditioned for a professional role at the age of 9, winning the supporting lead role opposite Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly in Creation, a biopic about Charles Darwin. She later paused her child acting career at the decision of her parents, who wanted her to focus on her education at St Marylebone CE School. She trained at the National Youth Theatre, and was also part of the Young Court program at the Royal Court. Since then she starred in BBC miniseries, The Pursuit of Love, and upcoming feature Man and Witch alongside Jennifer Saunders and Eddie Izzard.
